30 Hours of Service Learning
I did three different things to help me get my service learning credit in a fast and easy time period. One thing I did was volunteer in my little brother and sisters classroom at Sopris Elementary School for two Monday's for about three house. I helped kids with math mostly and occasionally some writing. I realized in this process that being a teacher is something that I wouldn't be interested in, but it sure is fun to volunteer from time to time. Another thing I did was, helping my fellow students write their senior paper. I had finished mine during trimester two and I got offered to help for service learning credit. I was in thesis paper class every morning all week to have that opportunity to help anybody at anytime. The last thing I did to gain service learning credit faster was I volunteered a lot of my time at the Glenwood Valley Athletics gym helping kids of all ages grow better knowledge of cheerleading and strength in the mind and body. I also volunteered my time to help the head coach take her elite team to Dallas, Texas for All-Star Nationals for five days.
During this time period I had learned a lot. I learned that I like helping kids. However, I can help more in the gym instead of a classroom. Although, I did enjoy helping in thesis paper class, only because I got to learn a lot more and practice a lot too. After taking and helping that class I am more confident to go to college and be able to write a strong paper.
